In this critical role, Waqas drives the integration of first-party audience data with publisher site analytics, enabling news organizations to make informed decisions that accelerate audience growth and deepen engagement.

Since joining BlueLena in January 2022, Waqas has established himself as a technical leader with a strong blend of analytical rigor and product-oriented thinking. He oversees the development of API libraries and data pipelines that power scalable solutions for publishers, ensuring systems are robust, extensible, and aligned with strategic business goals.
Prior to his current role, Waqas served as Senior Head of Digital Content for Business Recorder in Karachi, Pakistan, and held key digital strategy and editorial positions at Daily Pakistan and Maati TV. His work also includes consulting engagements such as building a social listening tool for the Boston Globe and providing digital strategy advisory services to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), further underscoring his ability to solve complex challenges at the intersection of data, technology, and audience behavior.
Waqas originally joined BlueLena as a Reader Revenue Analytics Fellow while completing his M.S. in Digital Media Innovation at New York University, laying the foundation for his expertise in analytics and reader revenue systems.
